A DETAIL OF A WORK BY CHRISTINE BENSON
DETAIL FROM 'TIME & TIDE' BY CHRISTINE BENSON

Layers of fabrics, fibres and threads, the majority of which are hand dyed silks, are so intensely worked that the stitch becomes an integral part of the whole fabric.

All work is set on natural silk and presented in glazed natural wood frame.

Items 1, 2 and 3 were inspired by the unique atmosphere of Aberglasney Gardens in Carmarthenshire. Aberglasney evokes echoes of the past through the details of the textural architecture and ancient pathways, the abundance of new growth and life in the gardens are reflected symbolically in my work.
